Well first Alpha ready

Well, the game is now in a state that you should be able to play the game from start to finish.

When it comes to game content, nothing new should be expected. A few features are still missing, but they are rather minor and won't really be in your way.

Now, if you dare, I might allow a few people to try the first alpha. This alpha won't be public yet as it's by far not stable enough for that yet. If you want to be one of the select few to try the alpha out already a few things are to be taken in mind.

  1. There is only a Windows .exe of the Apollo engine. I do not know if the tools like WINE can make the game run in Linux.
  2. A GitHub account is required as my issue tracker is on GitHub. When you want to be an Alpha tester, I do request very friendly to report any bugs you think I don't know of.
  3. The JukeBox feature in the main menu is not yet implemented, so selecting it will (for now) crash the game. This is one of the minor features that is not yet implemented (will be done soon, though).
  4. I said it before and I'll say it again. This is the first ALPHA. Bugs and crashes are to be expected, even some placeholder behavior. That's what alpha testing is all about.
  5. If you find spelling or grammar errors in the scenario text, by all means, report it. I do hate grammar Nazis, for thinking they are smart to begin about language errors and not having good argumentation, but if you are actually doing it to help me, then it *is* welcome. Writing a game like this all by yourself without spelling or grammar errors is just undoable. I recommend everybody to not even try.
  6. Also note that the game will see some balancing as testing goes. Enemies being either too easy or too hard are to be expected. I will do what I can to get such things in order.
  7. I shall use Butler to keep the alpha up to date.  As far as I know butler can also be used to download stuff (I never tried myself), and it can be a good idea to use it for that too.

If you prefer to wait until the game is more stable than this, I guess at least now you know how things are going.
